Private AI chat that runs entirely on your iPhone and iPad.
Surnia – Offline AI Chat runs language models entirely on your device.
Nothing. Surnia has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of its own. Your conversations, settings and models are stored on your device and are never sent to the developer or to any server, unless you send a report yourself.
Surnia connects to the internet for one purpose: downloading the model files you choose from the Models screen. Files are fetched from Hugging Face (huggingface.co and its content-delivery hosts such as hf.co). That request contains no personal data beyond what any web download sends (your IP address and the file requested). Nothing you type in Surnia is sent by the app to any server.
You can attach a photo from your library or take one with the camera so a vision model can look at it. Photos are chosen with Apple’s system picker, so Surnia only sees the photos you pick. They are processed on your device, saved with that chat, and never uploaded. Surnia asks for camera access only when you first take a photo, and you can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings.
You can also share photos, PDF and text files to Surnia from other apps with the Share button. Surnia receives only what you share; it is kept on your device in Surnia’s own storage until it appears in the chat, and is never uploaded.
If a reply is wrong or objectionable, tap the “…” button under it (or long-press it) and choose “Report a response”. This opens an email to the developer in your mail app with the reply (up to 1,500 characters), the model and engine, the app version and build, your device model, chip, memory size and system version, and the reply’s speed included, so the developer can reproduce the problem. You can read and change all of it in the email, and nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. If no mail app is set up, Surnia shows the address to write to instead. A report you send is kept only to answer it and fix the problem it describes. To have yours deleted, write to omarluay@42l6.com.
When your device supports Apple Intelligence, Surnia can use Apple’s built-in on-device model. It runs on the device under Apple’s privacy rules; Surnia does not send your text to Apple.
Surnia is not directed at children under 13.
